How to Make Natural Red or Pink Food Dye



There are several ways to make natural pink or red food dye. The dye of choice depends on the taste desired. If you want a tasteless dye then choose beets. Otherwise, you can choose from juices like cranberry juice, red grape juice, cherry juice, and pomegranate juice. Berries like cranberries  raspberries, and pomegranate can also be used to make red / pink food coloring.

Beets / Picked Beets Method: 
1 can beets
Drain 3/4 cup of liquid from can
Add 2 teaspoon of vinegar


Red Onion Skin Method: 
Boil the skins
Cool and strain


Berry Method: 
1 cup berries  
Pulverize in blender
Strain using mesh sieve or cheesecloth


Red Pepper Method:
Roast red pepper
Puree


Paprika Method:
Powdered paprika
Add water


Red Cabbage Method:

Cut cabbage into strips
Cover with water
Boil
Cool
Strain
Add drop of lemon juice to turn the blue/purple into red
