Supplies:
- 1/2 cup Fresh Rosemary
- 1-2 cups Olive Oil
- Clear Jar with Lid
- Strainer
- Dark Jar with Cap for Storage
Procedure:
- Rinse rosemary.
- Strip needles from the stem.
- Allow needles to dry (several days)
- Crush needles to smaller pieces
- Put needles in glass container
- Completely cover needles with oil
- Cap the jar
- Place jar in sunny location
- Swirl mixture daily for 4-6 weeks
- Strain oil to remove needles
- Put strained oil in dark jar/container
- Store rosemary oil in cool place.
Notes:
- Drying: Needles with moisture will grow moldy in the oil mixture.
- Oil: Needles not completely covered in oil will also get moldy.
