Make Rosemary Oil With Sunlight

Rosemary Oil Using Fresh Rosemary is simple to make. You can substitute dried rosemary to save time. However, it's best to use fresh rosemary.

Supplies:
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Rosemary
  • 1-2 cups Olive Oil
  • Clear Jar with Lid
  • Strainer
  • Dark Jar with Cap for Storage

Procedure:
  • Rinse rosemary.
  • Strip needles from the stem.
  • Allow needles to dry (several days)
  • Crush needles to smaller pieces
  • Put needles in glass container 
  • Completely cover needles with oil 
  • Cap the jar
  • Place jar in sunny location
  • Swirl mixture daily for 4-6 weeks
  • Strain oil to remove needles
  • Put strained oil in dark jar/container
  • Store rosemary oil in cool place. 

Notes:
  • Drying: Needles with moisture will grow moldy in the oil mixture.
  • Oil: Needles not completely covered in oil will also get moldy.
